Dr. Augustine J. Kellis is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon. He is the founder and CEO of Ophthalmology & Oculoplastic Surgery, Inc., located in Chardon, Ohio. Dr. Kellis is a well-respected physician with over 15 years experience in his chosen specialties. He has performed over 15,000 intraocular procedures and over 35,000 eyelid, oculoplastic and facial plastic surgical procedures.

Dr. Kellis graduated from Steubenville High School in Steubenville, Ohio as class valedictorian. His undergraduate studies were completed at Bethany College where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. His medical degree was obtained from Case Western Reserve University where he graduated with honors in seven different specialties. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and served as chief resident. The completion of his formal education was the Tenzel Oculoplastic surgical fellowship in Miami, Florida. Dr. Kellis is well known for his exceptional medical expertise and his warm, personable bedside manner.

Dr. Kellis has served as chief of ophthalmology and head of oculoplastic surgery at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center since 1994. He was the medical director for the Center of Excellence in Ophthalmology at UHHS Geauga Medical Center for 13 years until resigning 2 years ago. He was past director of oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at Parschauer Eye Center in Sandusky, Ohio and still serves as director of oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at the Eye Care Associates in Youngtown, Ohio. Dr. Kellis is an assistant clinical professor at The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and also Case Western Reserve University Department of Ophthalmology. He is the director of the Chief Resident Oculoplastic rotation at the University Hospitals Eye Institute.

Dr. Kellis is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He’s been elected to Strathmore’s Who’s Who among American medical professionals. His peers voted him to the prestigious Castle Connelly Top Docs in Northern Ohio. He was also voted to Top Docs in America and to Top Cosmetic Surgeons in America. Recently US News and World Report selected Dr. Kellis as one of the top ophthalmologic and oculoplastic surgeons in America.

Aside from providing state-of-the-art care for his patients, Dr. Kellis, a former accomplished amateur body builder, still engages in weight training and cardiovascular exercise, including cycling and power yoga. He enjoys traveling, jet skiing, boating, snorkeling and scuba diving.
